Born in Cardston, he was raised and educated in Calgary. He moved to San Francisco in 1942 and enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force. After training in California and New Mexico, he graduated as a flying officer with the occupation of bombardier in August 1943.
He escaped uninjured from a plane crash on February 19, 1944 but was killed six days later near the army airfield at Grand Island, Nebraska.
He was survived by his widow; parents, Mr & Mrs Henry S. Flock; four brothers, Merlin, George, Henry and Donald; sister, Shirley; and other relatives.
