Oil City Derrick, Tuesday, Jan 19 1971:
Mrs. Veronica Acheson Mackey, 85, died at 3:30 pm Sunday at home, 3900 Ninth St North, St. Petersburg, FL. Born in New York City, she was a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Edward G. Acheson.

She married Cyrus Fay Mackey who died in March 1940.

She was an active member of St. John Episcopal Church when she lived in Franklin, continued her interest in the local parish and the Erie Dioceses, and several years ago made provisions for the establishment of St. Martin Chapel at the diocesan headquarters. The chapel was recently moved to the new diocesan house. She moved to St. Petersburg from Franklin in 1935 and took an active interest in the community, was a member of the Allendale Garden Club, the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Colonial Dames, and St. Peter Episcopal.

Survivors include two sons, Charles W. Mackey of St. Petersburg, FL, and Edward A. Bodine of Los Angeles, CA; a sister, Mrs. Margaret A. Stuart of St. Petersburg; a brother, Howard A. Acheson of New York City; and three grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Mrs. R. R. Bleakley Sr.

Services will be in St, Petersburg, then in St. John Episcopal Church in Franklin with Rev. Reginald Moore, rector, officiating. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
