Born to Cyrus and Mary (Abell) Lyon. He married Lucinda Olds in Swanton on 20 Feb 1804. She was the daughter of Samuel Olds and Persis Rice. They had at least 7 children.

177. V. 59. CYRUS' LYON [Caleb,' John,' John,' William1] was born in Woodstock, Conn., Feb. 22, 1750, and died in Goshen, Mass., Feb. 12, 1831. He married first, Mary . The name of his second wife was Hannah. She died March 20, 1813, ae. 59. He was one of the first settlers in Goshen. He was chosen hog reeve at the first town meeting held there in 1782. In 1783 "Cyrus Lyon of the Gore" conveys land to Thomas Weeks. Aug. 17, 1785, he buys land of his brother Lemuel, being then "of Goshen" (Springfield Rec. of Deeds). In 1788 he' was appointed on a committee to build a school house for the southwest district. His will, dated May 15, 1812, probated January, 1832, mentions wife Hannah, sons Abell, Luther, Cyrus, Joel and Elias, daughters Elizabeth Lyon and Mary Bisbee; Elias Lyon, executor.
