Our beloved mother and grandmother, Ella Jannie Mansell, 92, passed away November 23, 2000. She was born September 17, 1908 in Cove City, North Carolina. She was the youngest daughter of David Luther and Sarah Elender (Smith) Mallard. Death was due to natural causes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and 13 brothers and sisters.
She grew up in Oklahoma and Texas and spent most of her youth on a farm. She loved horses and oil painting and often combined the two. Her life will live on in the beautiful artwork she has left behind. She was a devoted member of the LDS faith and held various positions throughout her life.
She is survived by her children: Lorenzo A. (Ruth) Merchant, Salt Lake; Leslie Duncan, Salt Lake; Stuart (Annette) Duncan, San Antonio, TX; Carolyn (Varney) Nell, Falls Church, VA; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.
Services will be held Monday Nov 27, 2000, 12:30 p.m. in the Grandview LDS 2nd Ward (2930 S. 20th E). A viewing will be held Sunday Nov 26, 6-8 p.m. at Lake Hills Memorial Park, 10055 S. State St, Sandy, UT and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Lake Hills Memorial Park. Funeral Directors, Deseret Memorial Mortuary.
