A son of the late Samuel and Caroline Toy, he was born in Bramwell and resided there until his retirement in 1956. He also served in the Merchant Marine and worked for American Railway Express.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Leonard Cole of DeLand, Fla and Mrs. S.E. Massey of Orlando; and a brother, Leonard Toy of Orlando. His wife and son preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11am at the Mercer Funeral Home in Bluefield. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James W. Mann, Charles Brocks, William Guy, Barnes Gillespie, Harold Caudill, Charles M. Harrell, A.O. Bishop, Marlin Kellerman and W.P. Clark.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the local heart fund.
