She attended schools in Lafayette and married Benjamin Abeyta on December 30, 1950 at St. Ida Catholic Church in Lafayette. Nes enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had a very outgoing and engaging personality and was constantly making new friends. She was a member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary in Lafayette for more than 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ben, her daughter, Baby Sister, her parents, and her brother, Ernie.
She is survived by her daughter, her 2 sons, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandsons, a sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
On Monday, November 2, a visitation will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm, with a rosary at 7 pm at Darrell Howe Mortuary in Lafayette. The funeral mass will be Tuesday, November 3 at 10 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lafayette, followed by interment at the Lafayette Cemetery.
