Mr. Ellis C. Green, age 84 of Lynden, went to be with his Lord at his home on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

Ellis was the son of Lee and Nancy (Dawson) Green and was born in VanBuren, Missouri on October 4, 1919 and in 1938 he moved to Whatcom County. In March of 1942 he enlisted in the US Navy and served until September of 1945. He was married to Virginia Juanita Buchanan in VanBuren on December 21, 1942. Following his service, he and Juanita returned to Lynden where Ellis operated a strawberry and raspberry farm for a number of years. He then purchased and operated the Dutch Treat Restaurant in Lynden and following the sale of the restaurant was a custodian for the Lynden School District for 11 years. After his retirement, he continued to work part-time for Curt Mayberry Farms.

Mr. Green was a member of the Word of Life Family Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
He is survived at home by his wife of sixty-years Juanita.
