Gracie was the wife of John Thomas Merritt and
daughter of William (Billy)and Mary Elizabeth (Lizzie Merritt)
McCloud. Gracie was a sister to Alta Emma Mitchell Collier.
Gracie taught school at New Winchester a few years.

Obituary
Grace Alma Merritt, 81, Reelsville, formerly of Pittsboro, died Friday, February 27 in Putnam Co, Hospital, Greencastle, Indiana.
A native of Pittsboro, she was born April 26, 1905 to John and Mary (Merritt) McCloud. On March 25, 1937, she married John Thomas Merritt, who survives.
Mrs. Merritt was a retired school teacher, having taught in Putnam and Hendricks Co Schools. She lived in Putnam Co most of her life and was a member of New Maysville Baptist Church.
Services were Monday March 2 in David A. Hall's Mortuary, Pittsboro, Indiana. Rev Kathy Kinser officiating. Burial was in Lizton K of P Cemetery.
Surviving with her husband are several nieces and nephews.
