Dreyfus, Trevor James passed away on October 27, 2015. He grew up in Kirkwood and lived a very full life in his 32 years. He graduated from MICDS with top honors, was a national merit finalist and senior class president. He graduated magna cum laude from the College of William and Mary, where he double majored in International Relations and Economics and minored in Hispanic Studies. He spent seven months living and studying in Argentina, where he also earned his International Pilot’s License for sailing. Upon graduation, he was awarded a year-long Fulbright Scholarship where he studied the effects of official currency dollarization on the economy of Ecuador. He then worked at the US Federal Trade Commission as an honors paralegal in the Bureau of Competition. He took a leave of absence for 6 months from the FTC to act as Logistics Specialist for working with the Eye of the World, an educational nonprofit organization in which he and 2 other crewmembers sailed from Virginia to the Galapagos Islands providing social studies lessons via streaming video to middle school classrooms in the US. Trevor then attended the London School of Economics, graduating with merit with a Masters of Science in International Political Economy. He took a job Louis Dreyfus Commodities upon graduation, working in international specialty coffee trading for the past 3 plus years in New Orleans, a city he loved. He travelled frequently in Central and South America, drawing upon his language skills in Spanish and Portuguese in his business efforts and personal explorations.
Beyond his accomplishments, Trevor was an athlete and adventurer, who loved to sail, kayak, and spend time in nature, but most of all loved being with family and friends. Trevor was loved dearly by many and his absence will leave an enormous void in the hearts of his family and friends. Trevor was the deeply beloved son of Dan Dreyfus and Denise Maue Dreyfus and deeply beloved brother of Nathan Thomas Maue Dreyfus. He was a beloved grandson, nephew and cousin, and valued friend of many, here and abroad
