EDNA PEARL (PEG) DUFRIN MALLOCH DIES
WAS WIDELY KNOWN CIVIC LEADER

Citizens of Yellville and Marion County were shocked Monday morning to learn of the death of a lady whom everyone in the entire area respected and honored.

She was Mrs. Peg Malloch, City Clerk and one of the most civic-minded women in Marion County. She died 27 May 1957 in the Boone County, Arkansas Hospital. Funeral services were conducted May 29th at the Yellville Methodist Church with the Episcopal Church in charge. Burial was on May 30th in Garden City, Kansas at the Valley View Cemetery.

Peg Malloch was born 22 Jan 1902 in Clyde, Cloud County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Edward Carry Dufrin/Dufrain and Malinda Landry.

She left behind her husband, William A. Malloch of Yellville and five sisters; Mrs. Emma Becquet of Garden City, Kansas; Mrs. Della McDoulett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Mrs. Lottie Lane of Johnson City Kansas; Mrs. Ada West of Kansas City, Missouri; Mrs. Marie Beatty of Ulysses, Kansas and six brothers, Harry Dufrin of McPherson, Kansas, Louis Dufrin of Garden City, Kansas; David DuFrain of Uravan, Colorado; Ernest Dufrin of Cannon City, Colorado; Wallace Dufrain of San Francisco, California and Walter Dufrain of Eden, Texas.

(Peg was first married to John Wamberg. They divorced. Her second marriage was to Elmer W. Elwick in 1925. Elmer died in 1940. Peg's third marriage was to William Maloch/Malloch.) She did not have any children.
