Kirsten Louise Casteel, age 22, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away on November 1, 2015. She was born on February 8, 1993 in Carrollton, Texas to Marc and Karen (James) Casteel. She was a student at the University of Texas at San Antonio and the Incarnate Word Dental School. Kirsten was a member of Young Life and Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She loved music, played the piano, and sang in the choir. Kirsten also loved animals. She started gymnastics at the age of 3, ice skating at the age of 4 and was a cheerleader since she was 8 years old. Kirsten was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church.

She is survived by her parents, Marc and Karen Casteel of Carrollton, Texas; brother, Reece Casteel; grandparents, Barbara Casteel of Newton, Kansas and Harry James of Garland, Texas; great-grandmother, Louise Hucko of Garland, Texas; God-parent, Jeffery James; aunts and uncles, Mary and Caron Casteel, Laura and Jim Buchanan, Pam Denson, Lana and Dennis Goethe, Greg and Sharon Koontz; many other loving relatives and friends.

Kirsten is preceded in death by grandparents, Darrell Casteel, Catherine Marie Cheek; great-grandparents, Michael “Peanuts” Hucko and Harry James, Sr.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
