Clarence Monk

Clarence William Monk, 80, of Bear Lake died Wednesday at his home.

He was born June 11, 1901, In Spring Valley, Kansas, the son of Henry and Orpha (Kuhns) Monk.

He was a retired fruit farmer and a member of the Manistee County Farm Bureau. He married Helen Bowling on July 12, 1923, in Manistee.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; two sons; William of Lake Worth Fla.; and John of South Bend, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Harless of Kokomo, Ind.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters; Mrs. Alex (Marjorie) Tuisku of Kaleva, Mrs. Mary Mihelick of Lake Linden and Delores Monk of Detroit; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will be at the Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. to receive friends.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. from the Terwilliger Funeral Home, Rev. Kenneth Lein officiating.

Burial will be in the Bear Lake Township Cemetery.
