He was born January 29, 1911 in the town of Birnamwood, the son of the late Ernest Miller and Marie (Draeger) Miller, Wittenberg.
Survivors include seven siblings, Ernest Miller, Bruce, WI, George Miller, Three Lakes, Louis Miller, White Lake, Viola (Herbert) Dickman, Birnamwood, Arnold (Dorothy) Miller, Wittenberg, Marie Miller and Edwin Miller, both of Merrill.
In addition to his father, Elder was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Miller.
Funeral services were held June 2, 1960 at St. John Lutheran Church. The Rev. Carl Musall officiated. Interment was in Forest Home Cemetery, Wittenberg.
