Services for Laverne Roy, age 83, of Palestine will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Chaplain Don Stanland officiating. Burial will follow in Carroll Springs Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster. Mrs. Roy died Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at Trucare Nursing Center in Palestine. She was born February 8, 1932, in Henderson County to Martin P. and Edna Cummings Staines. She was a member of the North Jackson Baptist Church. Mrs. Roy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack Roy, a son Paul Roy, sisters, Marie Pierce, Shirley Welch, and Velma Coleman, brothers, Martin Staines and Sherman Staines. She is survived by her daughter Terri Randle and husband James, a son Richard Roy and wife Martha, sisters, Ollie Cooper, Linda Ammons, and Betty Byrum, three grandchildren, Emily Boyd, Lex Anne Royle and Cody Killion, and two great grandchildren, Addison Royle and Haylee Killion. Pallbearers will be Gary Cooper, Cody Killion, Cary Daniels, Sr., Cary Daniels, Jr., Tim Pierce and Jimmy Newsome.
