He was born on March 14, 1936, in Carpenter, Ill., one of five children born to Gustav and Regina (Blom) Neuhaus.
Mike graduated from Worden High School, and from 1967 to 1984, he owned and operated, along with his wife, the Godfrey Food Shop on Godfrey Road, where they met many loyal and wonderful friends. He then began working as a meat cutter at Shop 'n Save, retiring in 2008 from their Edwardsville location.
He married the former Sylvia J. "Cookie" Reiske on July 4, 1958, in Carpenter, and together they have been blessed with 57 years of marriage and five wonderful children.
Surviving are his wife; four children and their spouses; a son-in-law and his wife; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Mary Eileen Robertson on March 2, 1998; and two brothers Lloyd Neuhaus and Allan "Allie" Neuhaus.
Burial will take place in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
