Kenneth D. Weina, age 86, a Manitowoc resident, died Thursday morning, November 5, 2015 following an 11 year struggle with FTD (frontal temporal dementia) at St. Mary's at Felician Village, Manitowoc with his loving family at his side.

Ken was born on November 9, 1928 in Manitowoc, son of the late Conrad and Grace (Gehrke) Weina. He was a 1947 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On August 17, 1950, Ken was married to the former Jean Wilda in Manitowoc. He worked as a mail carrier until his retirement in 1986. Ken enjoyed his work and for the longest period his route included delivering mail to his home and his childhood neighborhood. He always took time to visit with friends and neighbors. Ken and Jean enjoyed traveling. They visited all 50 states and traveled to Europe.

Ken was a member of First Lutheran Church, the National Association of Letter Carriers, National Association of Retired Employees and a life member of the Manitowoc Senior Center. He was a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and never missed a televised game.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 65 years: Jean Weina, Manitowoc; three sons and daughters-in-law: Steven and Cindy Weina, Sheboygan; Grant and Deb Weina, Mt. Horeb; Kurt and Kay Weina, Omro; five grandchildren: Dawn and David Bossler; Hope and Jerod James; Sarah and Mark Sauer; Christopher and Juliana Weina; Carissa Weina; two step-grandchildren: Eric Gustke and his fiancé: Linda Gruber; Alyssa and Travis Adams; nine great grandchildren: Danielle; Darcy; Kingston; Gianna; Adelyne; Xavier; Jaiden; Arabella; Raelyn; Brother-in-Law: Robert (Nancy) Wilda, OH; and Sister-in-Law Ann Marie (Paul) Gregoire, MA, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Conrad & Grace Weina; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Wencil and Margaret Wilda.

Memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2015 at First Lutheran Church, 521 North 8th Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Roald Harswick will officiate with burial of his cremated remains to take place at the Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations would be appreciated for the Associated for FTD, Radnor Station Bldg #2 Suite 320, 290 King of Prussia Rd., Radnor, PA 19087 and First Lutheran Church.
