James Elwood Alston, formerly of Greensboro, departed this life Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at Potomac Hospital, Dale City, Va.

The funeral will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at Woodard Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park.

Mr. Alston was born in Guilford County, to Lewis and Pallis Alston. Elwood was a good son, brother, and uncle. He was a good friend to all that knew him.

He graduated from Southern Guilford High School and N.C. A&T State University. He was employed by CVS Pharmacy as a human resources manager.

He is survived by his mother and father; one brother, Lewis Jr.; sister-in-law, Sharon; nephew, Zachary Alston; aunts, Lenora Mark, Martha Crump of Washington, D.C.; and uncles, James Alston (Minnie) of Greensboro, the Rev. Norman Alston (Bessie) of Greensboro, Elmer Legrand (Eloise) of Greensboro, Felix Legrand (Esther) of Biscoe.
