The funeral services of the late Doris Merle Anthony, 17 years of age, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Anthony, of the Imperial hotel, took place from Foster and Foster’s funeral home, Thursday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Canon James. Numerous floral tributes were received, and special cars were required to take wreaths to the Burnsland cemetery, where the remains were laid to rest. Besides her parents, Miss Anthony is survived by a young brother.
Joseph Carruthers sang two solos, and the pall bearers, intimate friends of the deceased, were: T. Staples, Cyril G. Smith, David Carswell, A. Webster, A. Lees, and H. Tavender.
Miss Anthony had attended college in Toronto for the past year, and she had recently returned to the city in company with her mother and brother. Several days ago, she was taken suddenly ill and passed away Tuesday.
