Tommy P. George, 74, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015. He was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was of the Baptist faith. He was a United States Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict and was the Owner & Operator of T.P.G. Construction for more than 40 years, retiring in 2001. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with family and friends, but most of all sharing his life with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather that will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lois and Nina George; son, Gary George; and two brothers, C.J. George and Larry George. Survivors include his loving wife of more than 54 years, Johnnie Marie George; daughter, Tammy Kearney; brother, Harold George, all of Rossville; two sisters, Sue Walker, of Rossville, and Sharon Williams, of Rome, Ga.; two grandchildren, Kari and (Chad) Tindell and Jason and (Amanda) Marter; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Olivia Marter; and numerous extended family and friends.
