Funeral services were held Sunday at the First Congregational Church, Harwich, for John C. Berger, 70, of Division St. He died at the Cape Cod Hospital. A native of Chicago, he was the son of Calvin M. and Laura (Atkinson) Berger. He was a graduate of St. John's Military Academy, and also attended Cornell University. A professional musician in his early years, Mr. Berger was later a salesman for local and national firms. He was a resident of Cape Cod for the past 30 years and recently retired from the Dennis Port Post Office. He is survived by his wife, Florine (Kurtz) Berger; two sons, Calvin M. Berger of Albany and Willlam D. of West Harwich; two daughters, Mrs. Richard S. Reed (Joan) of Mamaroneck, N.Y., and Mrs. Roger L. Christian (Anne) of Boston and San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Hugh French of Bethlehem, Pa., and five grandchildren.
