Eugene M. Boland, age 81, of East Haven, CT, passed away November 7, 2015. Mr. Boland was born in Scranton, PA to the late Patrick J. Boland (who was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and later served as the House Majority Whip under President Roosevelt) and the late Veronica Boland. He graduated from the University of Scranton with a degree in Economics. He retired as Director of Marketing for Pitney Bowes in CT. After his retirement, he enjoyed working with special needs children in his son-in-law, Dr. Michael Goldstein's practice. He was a devout catholic and proudly served in the US Marine Corps as a first lieutenant. He had an amazingly positive perspective on life, a wonderful sense of humor and a humorous knack for storytelling. He was loved and will be deeply missed. Survivors include his beloved wife, Lorraine (Kaulback) Boland of East Haven, CT, four loving children Joanne (Eric) Passeri of Trumbull, CT, Maureen (Michael) Goldstein of Marlborough, CT, Kevin (Teresa) Boland of Apex, NC and Laura (Rich) Liu of Nutley, NJ; nine cherished grandchildren Brian, Katelyn, Meghan, Kara, Jonathan, John, Anna, Nicole and Daniel, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Lynn Lillquist, his brother Patrick J.Boland II, and his dear cousin Anne Marie Payton. Friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Friday at 11:00 a.m. directly at St. Catherine of Siena Church 190 Shelton Rd. Trumbull, CT. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Trumbull, CT.
