HAVEN – Betty Virginia Geffert, 92, passed away Nov. 7, 2015, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born Aug. 16, 1923, in Haven, the daughter of Oscar and Myrtle Bunch Fishburn.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. On Nov. 8, 1942, Betty married Arnold Frederick Geffert at Haven. He passed away Oct. 13, 1993.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Twila Fishburn, Pauline Terry and a brother, Paul Fishburn. She is survived by her children, Lynette (Neil) Hayes of Tonganoxie, Lynn (Kathy) Geffert of Haven, Mark (Debi) Geffert of Hutchinson; a sister, Anna Lee Wiebe of Haven; five grandchildren, Scott Hayes, Stacie Hrabe, Kristin Bell, Kyle Geffert, Keri English; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, at Ott Funeral Home, Haven. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Haven, with Pastor Russell Bonine officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.
