Muncie – Joanne (Carol) Walker, 78, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2015 at St. Vincent Heart Hospital.
She was born in Muncie on June 7, 1937, the daughter of Rollin and Helen (Wiggerly) McKinley and graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1955.
Joanne worked as a secretary for Bracken, DeFur, Voran and Hanna Law Office, Old National Trust Company and later retired from First Merchants Trust Corporation.
She enjoyed writing cards to people for inspiration and loved her family.
Survivors include her husband of sixty years, Don Walker; her daughters, Tammy Galbraith (husband, Lou) and Shelley Ahlersmeyer; her grandchildren, Louie Galbraith (wife, Val), Kelli Cooney (husband, Bob), Abby Olson (husband, Steve), Emily Ahlersmeyer, Joe Ahlersmeyer, Tim Ahlersmeyer, Josh Ahlersmeyer, Adam Walker and Kirklyn Walker; her great-grandson, Andrew Olson; a daughter-in-law, Kay Walker; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Walker; a brother, Tony McKinley; and her parents.
Services will be 12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2015 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, North of Muncie.
