A native of Pelham, GA, Mr. Atkinson was raised in Miller Co, GA and had resided in Albany, GA since 1939. He was Navy Veteran of World War II and was employed with Flint River Textiles for thirty-five years until his retirement. Mr. Atkinson was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Lee Atkinson and his wives, Jewel Francis Duke Atkinson and Ethel Latham Atkinson.
Survivors include his sisters, Margaret A. Santmyer and her husband Raymond of Albany, GA and Agnes Irene Borras' and her husband Angelo of Los Angeles, CA and a nephew, Roger Wills and his wife Diane of Lee Co, GA and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.
