Born Tunkanock, Wyoming county, PA. Lived there until he was 19, moved with his parents to Hastings, NE. Left Hastings in 1880 for Rock Springs. He bought a furniture store/undertaking parlor from his brother William and ran this for 20 years until he retired. He was married twice, from his first marriage he had five children, 3 boys and 2 girls. The youngest boy was killed in WWI. It says the boy killed at war, his name is on the memorial in the "city" park.
