Vivian Marjorie Campin, 95, of Blaine, WA, passed away peacefully at Stafholt Good Samaritan Center in Blaine on August 29, 2011.

Vivian was born February 2, 1916 in the tiny town of Kuroki, North Dakota to James and Emma Ballantyne. She was the ninth of eleven children and the last surviving member of her family.

Vivian married the love of her life, Reg Campin in 1936 in North Dakota. In 1942 they moved to Blaine, WA, where Reg was a math teacher and football coach. Reg later became principal of Blaine High School, a position he held for over 40 years. Vivian was his most devoted cheerleader. Together they raised two adopted children: William (Bill) Campin of Custer, WA; and Evelyn "Kaye" Caley of Port Orchard, WA.

Vivian is survived by her son Bill and his wife Nancy and her daughter Kaye and her husband Rush; grandchildren Michael, Misty, Robert, Keegan and Breanna; great grandchildren Lindsey, Mitch, twins Aubrey and Taylor, and Olivia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her husband Reginald and granddaughter Erin preceded her in death. Vivian loved caring for people.

Later in life she made her rounds at Stafholt welcoming and loving the residents there. She was an avid supporter of the Human Race Marathon, walking for scholarships for Stafholt scholars. Since she was a little girl, Vivian loved her Lord God and trusted Jesus as her Savior. She and Reg never missed morning devotions. They were active members of the United Church of Christ Congregational in Blaine.

Memorials may be made to the Blaine Good Samaritan Society Scholarship Fund, 456 C Street, Blaine, WA 98230.
