Randolph “Plutie” Turner Copeland, 95, passed away August 18, 2015. He was born in Newport News, VA to the late Fitzhugh Christopher Copeland and Doris Mayo Turner Copeland. Plutie is predeceased by his wife of 73 years, Thelma Elaine Turner Copeland and brothers Howard Thomas Copeland and Curtis Barnes Copeland. He was a master watchmaker and jeweler and retired from Brewer Jewelry Company and Barr Bros. Jewelers. Plutie was a U.S.M.C. veteran having served in W.W. II. He was a member of Suffolk Christian Church having served as Deacon Emeritus, member of the Usher Board, and Baracca Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Tidewater Watchmaker Association and loved gardening and fishing.

Plutie is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy C. and Mel Hemphill, Linda C. and John Fletcher; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Mary Ellen Copeland; grandchildren, Terry Lewis, Christopher Fletcher, Sarah Kaitlyn Fletcher; great grandson, Michael Lewis; great-great grandson, Blake Lewis.

A funeral service was held Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 11:00 am at Suffolk Christian Church, 216 N. Main Street, Suffolk, VA, 23434 with Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating.
