Former Superior resident, Christina P Barnason, 71, died Friday. She was born in Hastings to John and Alberta (Perkins) Spady and had been making her home in Lincoln, Neb.

An avid quilter, she enjoyed crafts and gardening. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, north of Superior. She was the niece of Edwin Perkins, inventor of Kool-Aid. Graduated from Hastings College with a degree in art.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph of Lincoln, NE; a son, Joe, daughters, Mrs Jon Beavers (Tina) and Mrs Luke Chapin (Amber); grandchildren, James Beavers, Mrs Thomas Osdieck (Jill), Jacoby Beavers, Joey, Carmela and Penny Chapin; and sisters, Mrs Buck Buchholtz (Barbara) and Mrs Darrell Laschanzky (Joanne).
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard Spady.

A graveside service was scheduled for the Ayr Cemetery.
