Deceased Had Been Ailing For Years, Father was Civil War Veteran
Mrs. Hannah Erickson, 145 Sixth Avenue North, passed away at her home Wednesday at the age of 87 years. She had been in ill health for several years.
Funeral services will be conducted at two p.m. tomorrow from Gethsemane Lutheran church here and burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, with the Strobeck Mortuary in charge.
Mrs. Erickson was born in Sweden on August 27,1853, and had just passed her 87th birthday the day before her death. She came to the United States in 1861, settling in Carver County with her parents. In 1871 she was married to Erick Erickson, and the couple moved to Belle Plaine to make their home. In 1900 the couple moved to Bird Island, and in 1915 came to Hopkins.
Nels Nelson, father of the deceased was a veteran of the Civil War, having served with the Minnesota forces.
Mrs. Erickson is survived by five children. They are: Julius Erickson of Pine River; Mrs. R.F. Anderson of Grace City, North Dakota; Mrs. Selma Gorham of Los Angeles; Mrs. J.E. Leeberg of Lake Lillian, Minnesota; and A.N. Erickson of Hopkins. She is survived also by 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, and one sister Mrs. Ida Lauer of Minneapolis.
