Elena Galvan, 102, went to be with Our Lord on Monday, November 9, 2015. Elena was born February 25, 1913 to Teodoro and Estefana Martinez Gonzales in Monterrey N.L. Mexico.
She is survived by her loving family: 2 Sons: Rogelio (Rebecca) Galvan of Mercedes, Texas, Javier (Mary) Galvan of Houston Texas, 2 daughters: Delia (Alfredo) Hinojosa of Mercedes and Gloria Johnson of Danburry Texas, and numerous grandchildren, also surviving her are many other family members.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roberto Galvan, 3 sons; Baldemar, Esnesto, Oscar Galvan, and her grandson; Leeroy Galvan.
She spent her time reading, knitting, and gardening and loved spending time with all her family. How to live a long life? She was constantly asked and she always responded by saying, “Happiness, Peace and serving the Lord, all with much Love.”
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 14th from 3:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. with a rosary prayed at 7:00p.m. and on Sunday, November 15th, 2015 from 1:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 16, 2015. We will depart Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace at 9:30a.m. for a 10:00a.m. mass at Our Lady Of Mercy Church.
Pallbearers are: Tom Hinojosa. Rolando Hinojosa, David Gonzales, Pedro Gonzalez, Eddy Galvan & Rolando Galvan. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Weslaco Texas.
