Joe was a 1955 graduate of Kennard High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Shirley Masonic Lodge #531, Knightstown American Legion # 152, and the Henry County Senior Center. Joe especially loved bluegrass music and was a member of the White River Folk and Bluegrass group, where he spent most of his time as the emcee.
He is survived by his companion of 22 years, Jean Dishman of Kennard; neice, Kay (Delbert) Brewer of Greencastle; a special friend, Bill Wall; and several other neices and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Tamara Brewer Hedrick; 2 sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Clevenger and Andrea Baker.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Friends may call from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. A private burial will take place at McCray Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Joe Hedrick Memorial Fund.
