Durand "Randy" Essman was the s/o Lenard Jewel Essman (deceased) and Iva Mae Logan Tubbs (1930-2014).
Durand's first name Francis is the middle name of his grandfather William Francis Henry Elijah Logan Sr, Iva's father.
Unsure when Randy became his nickname, I always called him Durand, Iva called him Randy or Ran.
Brother of Billy Mont Lawson (1954-2009) and the youngest of the three sons of Iva Mae Logan Tubbs is still living. The f/o Billy Mont and the younger Lawson was Mont Lawson Jr (believed to be deceased).
Spouses:
His first wife was Patricia "Pat" Ann Clemons Haigler, divorced.
His second wife is his widow.
Children:
Three daughters, one son.
One daughter, one son with Patricia.
Two daughters with his second wife.
Grandchildren:
Only know of one grandchild, a granddaughter.
Two nephews, two nieces.
Durand's name, his middle name, as a legacy:
Pat insisted on Durand as their daughter's middle name. Aunt Iva, his mother, voted for Ann as the middle name. The first daughter chose Durand as her son's first (or middle) name, then daughter #03 chose Randi as her daughter's name. And besides all that, one of our aunts, long before the birth of any of Durand's children, chose Durand as her son's middle name.
Durand adopted Pat's son from her first marriage, and he and wife #02 adopted their first daughter before the birth of #03 daughter, Durand is not part of their names. Do not know if they have named any of their children Durand or if any other grandchildren named for him.

Durand's grave at Resthaven Gardens Cemetery is not far from the double headstone of his mother and her still-living husband, Durand's stepfather.
