Josephine K. Boehm, 100, residing in South Bend, passed away at 7:00 am Tuesday, November 17, 2015 in her home, under the loving care of her niece, Glenda Erskin, with whom she lived the past ten years. She was born October 31, 1915 in McClellan Township, IL to the late Isaac F. and Dicy (Dalby) Kirkpatrick.

On July 30, 1939 in Bridgeton, MO, Jo married Friedrick “Fritz” C. H. Boehm, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her sisters, Louise Mick and Pearl Ryder; brothers, Leroy and Aram Kirkpatrick; and nephews, Isaac Kirkpatrick and Eric Koch.

Jo is survived by several nieces and nephews, Glenda Mick (Ed) Erskin of South Bend, James (Carolyn) Mick of Baytown, TX, Harl (Mary) Ryder of Providence, RI, Jane Koch of St. Charles, MO, Patricia Kirkpatrick of Baytown, TX, Kirk (Resa) Kirkpatrick of Paradis, LA, Aram Kirkpatrick of North Texas, Roxanna Batson of Texas and Roger (Jean) Jones of Houston, TX. Also surviving are 25 great nieces and nephews, as well as many more great great and great great great nieces and nephews, with whom she always had chocolates to share.

Residing in Illinois, Missouri, Cleveland, OH and Houston, TX during her lifetime, Jo held a variety of jobs, including bakery manager and Henke’s Pealot Grocery Store clerk. She also made hundreds of quilts during her lifetime. Jo was a charter member of the Memorial Christian Church of Greens Bayou in Houston, TX.

Private family services will take place locally at Northway Church of Christ in South Bend. Jo’s final resting place will be next to her husband in San Jacinto Cemetery in Houston, TX, where there will be a service celebrating her life. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
