He was born November 17, 1922, in Paris, the son of the late Clement and Lillian (Deem) Collier. He married Dorothy J. Goble on August 16, 1952, in Greeley, Colorado, and she survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Diana Lea (Brad) Hall, and a grandson, Zachary Steven Hall both of Cypress, Texas. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Bradley Collier, an infant brother, and an infant sister.
Mr. Collier was a 1942 graduate of Paris High School where he played basketball for Coach Ernie Eveland. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and traveled throughout the world as part of the U.S. Navy Basketball Team. After earning his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Eureka College and his Master's Degree from the University of Northern Colorado, he returned to Paris to work as an assistant to Coach Eveland. A talented golfer, he worked for a number of years after retirement in the pro shop of the Charleston Country Club.
