Funeral services for Carl A. Hurd, 76, long-time Sweetwater resident, will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Fundamental Baptist Church. Hurd died at 12:30 p.m. Friday.
The Rev. A. L. Patterson will preside at services and burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home directing arrangements.
Hurd was born Oct. 25, 1877 in Williamson County, and came to Sweetwater in 1923.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Homer of Abilene, Julius of Hobbs, N.M., and Bob of Abilene; three grandchildren; two brothers, Freeman of San Antonio and Frank of Brady; three sisters, Mrs. Will Cole, Mrs. Gradia Spears and Mrs. Joe Anderson, all of Brady.
Three children preceded him in death.
Pallbearers will be F. A. White, Lee Harveston, John Wilkerson, Jack Young, Billie Green and Mose Green.
