John McDerment Dead
The remains of John McDerment reached Guntersville this morning and were taken to Clear Springs, his home, for interment. Mr McDerment had been in ill health for some time and was taken to the state hospital at Tuscaloosa about three weeks ago. He was a good citizen and the relatives have the sympathy of many friends.
According to Irvin Swords was in the 4th Alabama Cavalry Co. I - Private and attended many reunions of the United Confederate Veterans.
