Florence was a remarkable woman. She was in her time one of the top Avon reps in the business. She was married to Kenneth F Backstrom. Florence was unable to bear children. So they did the next best thing. They Got Leah Louise in 1946. She had been left on a porch step in Du Bois Pa. All kinds of people came forward to adopt her, Doctors and lawyers both. However they chose Florence and Ken as parents. Funny thing, Since she was found, she had no proper date of birth. So they decided to give her a July birthday because both Ken and Florence birthdays are in July as is their Anniversary. Florence loved collecting antiques, and certainly had a variety. I learned so much from them. They will be missed.
