Martha Vela-Enriquez-Whirley, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and aunt died Friday, October 28, 2005. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a graduate of Texas A&I University, with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting. Del Mar College, Associate Degree, & Mary Carroll High School. She was the controller at Inland/Enterprise Transportation Co. and Entrepreneur of Inland Oil, and MEA accounting services.

Martha Whirley is survived by one son; Eric J. Enriquez, wife Maria Inez, two grandchildren; Eric, Jr. and Julie Enriquez of Ingleside, Texas, her mother Francisca A. Vela; three sisters; Frances (Pedro) Ysaguirre, Maria V. Hernandez, Rosalinda (Pedro) Pena of Corpus Christi, Texas, three brothers; Eulalio A. Vela, Rene Arriola, Martin (Lisa) Arriola of Corpus Christi, Texas, seven nieces; Andrea & Martha Ysaguirre, Sandra, Delia & Lisa Pena, Emily & Kimberly Arriola, six nephews; Pete & James Ysaguirre, Pete Pena, Rene & Jessie Arriola, Martin Jr. & Coby Arriola, her dearest friend; David Brooks and her loved dogs, Britney & Tobe.
Visitation and rosary were held Oct. 30 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. A funeral mass was celebrated Oct. 31 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church.
