Son of William & Rebecka Moser. Husband of Anna Marie Hummel. Father of Julia Moser, Albert Moser, and Abbie Moser Dillenbeck (John).

Civil War Veteran, Company F, K, 65th Regiment, New York Infantry. Overview: Organized at Willett's Point, N. Y., and left State for Washington, D. C., August 27, 1861.

The 65th NY Infantry fought in several battles of the Civil War: Battle of Gettysburg, Battle of the Wilderness, Battle of Spotsylvania Court House, Battle of Antietam, and the Battle of Cold Harbor.

The Regiment lost during service 5 Officers and 112 Enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 1 Officer and 88 Enlisted men by disease. Total 206.
