E. N. Webster, manager of the freight transfer department of the Longwell Transfer company, received the intelligence today of the death in Mount Vernon, Iowa of J. Albert Rood, better known as "Bert" Rood, who has frequently spent the winter in El Paso and is well known here. He spent all of winter before last in El Paso and has many friends here. THe deceased was 27 years of age and was the son of H. H. Rood, a Chicago businessman. He was taken ill in 1893, and since that time had spent a good portion of his life in the west seeking health.
