Gayle Swafford, 67, passed away Thursday, November 19 at 3:30 PM in Richmond, Texas after battling squamous cell and Merkel cell cancers. He was born January 30, 1948 in Electra, Texas to parents Loreta and Rex Swafford.
Gayle earned his degree in mathematics from the University of Texas. He had a fulfilling career in insurance regulation and administration and as a broker for Edward Jones. He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, studying photography, learning to play guitar and listening to jazz classics. Besides family, his greatest passion was playing golf. During his life he had four hole-in-ones…two at the Electra Country Club in Electra, TX and two at Pecan Grove Country Club in Richmond, TX.
