Private TR/10/44046 of the Middlesex Regiment. Enlisted 8th January 1915 and served in France as part of the BEF. Was medically discharged from the army 17th July 1917.

He was awarded the British War and Victory medals which were accepted by his father after his son's death.

Even though he died of war related causes, before the cut off date for "official war casualties" of 31st August 1921, he is not, for some reason recorded as a war casualty by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
