Sad story. His mother and father both died of the Flu when he was young. Forced upon his sister Rachel Campbell Capehart but she was unable to care for him. He was left at a inn in Texarkana along with Rachel girl child Bessie.

Rachel left to get food and never returned. Both children taken to orphanage. Later Monroe ran away and was able to find family.

Killed himself as an adult.
