GIBSON CITY: Campbell G. Brotherton, 88, former Gibson City resident, died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 1952 at his home in Chicago. He had been in ill health for considerable time.
The body was brought to the Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City, where funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. James C. Caton, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Drummer Township Cemetery at Gibson City, IL.
He was born September 17, 1864, at Valley Grove, WV, the son of John and Mary Gaston Brotherton. He was married to Addie Miner in 1902. He lived in Gibson City until 1938.
Survivors are two sons, Vernard of Decatur and Floyd of Gibson City; one daughter, Miss Edna Brotherton of Chicago. Six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife and two sons and three brothers.
