MOS: 1833 Assault Amphibious Vehicle Crewman.

George arrived in Vietnam 28 January 1964 and was assigned to Alpha Company, 1st Amtrac Battalion,3rd Marine Division.
John was one of 59 passengers returning to their units from R & R when the K-130F #149892 that they were on crashed while taking off the Kai Tak Airport in Hong Kong.
George died as a result of injuries to the body as a result of the crash.
Survived by his parents, George Albert and Dorothy Bell Sr of Seat Pleasant, Maryland.
