Roberta Virginia Gray Allison, 87, of Marshall, passed away on Nov. 19, 2015, at her home.

She was born Aug. 7, 1928, in Fauquier County, to the late Rufus Humphrey Gray and Lucy Pearl Lena Ryan.

Her husband, Wallace G. Allison, and her son-in-law, Skip Griffith, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Allison worked for 11 years, simultaneously as a nurse’s aide at the former District Nursing Home in Warrenton and as a cook at the former Fauquier Pharmacy. She then worked as a cook/chef at the Fauquier County jail from 1983 until retirement in 1990. Mrs. Allison will be remembered as an avid bingo player, who enjoyed playing the slot machines at the race track in Charles Town, W.Va., and was loved by all.

Survivors include her two children, Cindy Griffith and Stephen Allison; two sisters, Audrey Marie Gray and Patricia Ann Hunsberger; a daughter-in-law, Theresa Porter; a sister-in-law, Barbara Breeden; two grandchildren, Kandi Ann Woods and Lindsay Allison; a step granddaughter, Heather Herweg; a great granddaughter, Alexus Olinger; two great grandsons; two step great grandsons; two special friends, Mel Glascock and Martha Griffith, and many nieces and nephews.

Pastor Butch Hammond conducted a graveside service Monday, Nov. 23, at the Warrenton Cemetery.
