Rose E. Zipperer, 81, died November 10, 2004 at Berthoud Living Center. She was born on November 1, 1923 in Johnstown to J. George and Mary Zimmerman, long time Loveland residents and graduated from Loveland High School in 1941. She married Raymond J. Zipperer on October 2, 1943, and they had three children: Sharon, Jim and Mary. They farmed in Wiggins from 1948 to 1966. Following the death of her husband, Rose returned to Loveland and completed LPN School at Poudre Valley Hospital graduating at the top of her class. She worked at Berthoud Living Center (formerly known as Grand View Manor) for 25 years. In 1982, she was named Colorado Nurse of the Year and retired in 1992. Her faith and courage sustained her through several years of illnesses. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Morgan while living at Wiggins and a long time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Loveland. Her life was filled with caring for others, as she touched many lives.Her hobbies were reading and working in her yard and growing flowers, especially roses. She was a number one sports fan of baseball, hockey and football. Rose is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, one son and daughter-in-law, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two sisters, two brothers-in-law, three brothers, three sisters-in-law, Hannah Zimmerman of Loveland [survivors names omitted]. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Raymond, sister Martha Shaffer and brothers Victor and George (Viola) Zimmerman of Loveland, sister-in-law Dottie Zimmerman of Littleton and brother-in-law George Bernhardt. Other relatives include brother and sister-in-laws in Wisconsin and over seventy nieces and nephews and their families in various states. She will be missed by many friends. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 14 at Allnutt Funeral Service/Hunter Chapel. A celebration of Rose's life will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1101 Hilltop Drive, Loveland at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 15, 2004. She will be buried at Loveland Burial Park.
