Memphis, TN - Lula Mae Murphy Yancy, 79, passed away at home surrounded by family and friends after a battle with pulmonary fibrosis on Monday, November 23, 2015. Thanks be to God for the life and service of our mother, sister, grandmother, friend and servant. She was a retired nurse of 30 years from Methodist Hospital. She leaves to cherish her memories and legacy two children, Chandra Faye Lewis and Chris Yancy (Earlene). Grandchildren, Mallory Lewis Ingram (Ricco), Tre' Chanel and Cayla Yancy. A sister, Barbara Middleton; a beautiful great-granddaughter Marley Nicole Ingram along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends. She was a mother of Early Grove Baptist Church where she was faithful member for more than fifty years. The family will receive friends Friday November 27, 2015 4-6 p.m. and the Funeral service Saturday, November 28, at 11 a.m. will be held at Early Grove Baptist Church, 557 Lester Ave. Memphis, TN 38112. The burial will be Tuesday December 1, 2015 11:30 am at the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, TN 38125.
