James Donald Bell Sr., 67, died Sunday at Nevada General Hospital.
Mr. Bell was a native of Pennsylvania. He worked in many areas of the country as a construction laborer, coming to this area in 1948. He has been in ill health for the past 10 years.
He leaves his wife, Maggie of Grass Valley; four daughters, Stella Bryant of Longview, Tex., Thelma Wermes of Tucson, Ariz., Ruby Sowels of Lacombe, Ore., and Emma Jean Hetrick of Grass Valley; three sons, J.W. Buchanan of Longview, Tex., C. L. Buchanan of Indio and James D. Bell Jr. with the U.S. Army in Vietnam; a sister, Katherine Stanlake of Michigan; 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Hooper and Weaver Chapel with cremation to follow at Marysville.
