Paul, 76, 670 Indiana-Ohio State Line Road, Portland, Ind., died at 11:05 a.m., at Jay County Hospital.


He was born to Alva and Dorothy Mills Journay. On August 1, 1960, he married Katherine Sherwood Journay, who survives.


Also surviving are two daughters, Paula Butcher, Portland, and Debi Wheeler, Gas City, Ind.; a stepson, Jerry (Joyce) Arner, Decatur, Ind.; three stepdaughters, Donna (Steven) Helm, Decatur, Lois Arner, Fort Wayne, Ind., and Judy (Jerry) Stewart, Decatur; a brother, Richard (Wanetta), Rosehill; two sisters, Garnet Tomlinson, Fairborn, and Margaret Yount, Greenville; four grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren.


He retired from farming and Avco New Idea, Coldwater. He graduated in 1947 from Fort Recovery High School* and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of Noble Congregational Christian Church, Jay County, Antioch Shrine Temple, Dayton, and Free & Accepted Masons Lodge 439, Fort Recovery.


Services were at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Boyce Sharp officiating.
